A homebuyer’s school lookup guide

Bell County Schools: Belton ISD vs. Temple ISD

Start with the home’s full street address, the enrollment year and grade. A Temple mailing address, ZIP code or subdivision name alone does not establish the assigned district and campus. Use the official district tools below, then resolve exceptions with enrollment staff.

Quick answer

TEA’s 2026 preliminary accountability reports list Belton ISD at B / 80 and Temple ISD at B / 81. These are dated district measures, not a ranking of neighborhoods or a promise about an individual campus. For a home purchase, first check the 2026–27 address assignment, then compare the campus record, program access, transportation and enrollment requirements. This guide focuses on these two districts and selected local alternatives.

Open the official address lookup routes · Read the dated ratings · Use the two-address worksheet

Start with the address

Which school district and campus serves this home?

Record the street number, street name, unit if applicable, expected move date, grade and school year. Use the district’s own lookup rather than treating a listing’s school field as final confirmation.

Official district route

Belton ISD

The district’s boundary page is explicitly labeled 2026–27.

Look up an address
Belton ISD attendance boundaries links its maps and Infofinder address search. Confirm the displayed year and grade before saving the result.
Boundary history, with a date
BISD says the elementary boundaries adopted in March 2023 took effect in 2024–25 and remain the same for 2026–27. That is a statement about this boundary cycle, not a promise that assignments will remain unchanged throughout homeownership.
If a transfer is needed
Check BISD’s transfer page before relying on a different campus. On September 30, 2026, it said 2026–27 transfer applications were no longer being accepted. Its published policy requires annual applications and says transportation for transfer students is the parent’s responsibility.
Official district route

Temple ISD

Use the district’s current school and bus locator route.

Look up an address
Temple ISD Family Resources directs readers to its Infofinder school and bus route locator. Ask the district to confirm the applicable year if it is not clear in the result.
Enroll through the district
Temple ISD enrollment separates new student enrollment, returning student verification, kindergarten, pre-K and required documents. Use the path for the actual student and year; an address lookup is not completed enrollment.
Resolve a missing or conflicting result
The district lists 254-215-6973 for school/bus locator questions. Ask enrollment staff to reconcile new construction, an unrecognized address, conflicting campus results or a program-specific assignment before relying on a school in a home decision.
Three records that answer different questions

District, campus and program are separate checks

A district boundary identifies the school system serving an address. A campus attendance boundary identifies the usual school for a grade. A program or transfer may have an additional application. Save each answer separately, with the source, school year and the staff member who confirmed an exception.

For a subdivision such as Bella Terra, use the actual lot address rather than a phase label or a neighboring listing. A development name is useful for a home search; it is not an enrollment document.

What the 2026 TEA records say

In TEA’s 2026 preliminary campus-listing reports, Belton ISD’s overall score is 80 / B and Temple ISD’s is 81 / B. The official reports were checked September 30, 2026. A one-point district difference does not establish which school or home a buyer should choose.

Read the Belton district and campus report and Temple district and campus report. The TEA 2026 release page describes preliminary ratings and the appeals process. Recheck the official record for later adjustments.

TEA’s 2026 preliminary records list Lake Belton High School at 93 / A, Belton New Tech at Waskow at 89 / B and Temple High School at 90 / A. Those campus figures differ from their district scores. Review the assigned campus’s full record and available services; these scores do not predict a student’s experience or a property’s resale value.

For elementary or middle school, open the district report and find the exact campus name and TEA ID returned by the address lookup. Compare the same reporting year and school type. Read the underlying achievement, progress and other reported measures rather than treating a single letter as a complete school evaluation.

Questions beyond the score

Compare program access before choosing an address

New Tech at Waskow

Belton ISD’s 2026–27 admissions page requires an application and an interview with a parent or guardian. Out-of-district applicants also need transfer approval. Ask the campus about current openings, deadlines and transportation; buying within BISD is not admission to this program.

Temple High School IB

Temple High’s official International Baccalaureate page describes a two-year Diploma Programme for juniors and seniors. Ask the counselor about preparation, entry timing, course sequence and exam costs for the intended year. A home purchase does not reserve a course or program place.

Courses and services

Start with the BISD 2026–27 high school planning guide and the intended Temple campus’s official course information. Ask which campus offers a course, its prerequisites, scheduling limits and how existing credits transfer. Direct individual service questions to the district.

A practical comparison

Separate the housing budget from the school questions

For two homes, compare purchase price, property taxes, insurance, HOA charges and the actual daily route independently of the school rating. Then compare the confirmed campus, program access, calendar and transportation. A lower purchase price does not establish lower total cost, and a higher school score does not prove a property-value premium.

Use the property-tax guide for the parcel cost check and Belton-area neighborhood comparisons for dated housing evidence. Keep school enrollment confirmation with the district.

Additional local routes

Private and charter schools to research directly

These are selected school-run information routes, not a ranking or a complete directory. Confirm the campus location, grade, admission availability, annual costs and transportation before planning a purchase around attendance.

Holy Trinity Catholic High School

Grades 9–12 · Temple

The school lists 6608 West Adams Avenue. Its admissions page provides application and visit routes. Ask for the intended year’s tuition, fees and admission requirements.

Central Texas Christian School

Pre-K through grade 12 · Temple

The school’s directory lists its divisions and 4141 West FM 93 address. Review the actual grade’s curriculum and request the current tuition and fee schedule.

St. Mary’s Catholic School

Pre-K3 through grade 8 · Temple

The school’s website identifies its grade range and links admissions and tuition information. Confirm the grade opening, daily schedule, support services and full annual cost directly.

Providence Preparatory School

Pre-K through grade 12 · Belton

Its published schedule, checked September 30, 2026, has pre-K–4 on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays; grades 5–12 add Fridays. Plan for co-teaching on home days. Review its separate 2026–27 tuition and fee schedule before budgeting.

Priority Charter Schools — Temple

Published campus designation: PK–12

Use the Temple campus route on the operator’s website. Confirm the physical attendance location, grade availability, pre-K eligibility or tuition category, admission process and bus route rather than inferring them from the campus name.

For private options, request tuition plus application, registration, books, uniforms, activities and transportation costs in writing. Ask whether any aid is approved before subtracting it from a budget. For a charter, confirm its admission rules and capacity rather than assuming a house purchase secures a seat.

Frequently asked questions

Temple and Belton school questions

Does a Temple mailing address mean Temple ISD?

A mailing city or ZIP code alone does not establish the assigned school district or campus. Enter the full home address in the official district lookup, choose the applicable grade and school year, and ask district staff to resolve missing or conflicting results before relying on a campus assignment.

Is Belton ISD rated higher than Temple ISD in 2026?

No. TEA’s 2026 preliminary accountability records checked September 30, 2026 list Belton ISD at 80 / B and Temple ISD at 81 / B. These district measures do not rank neighborhoods, establish an individual campus’s performance or predict a student’s experience. Check the official reports for later adjustments.

How do I check the school assignment for a 2026–27 home purchase?

Start with Belton ISD’s 2026–27 attendance-boundary page or Temple ISD’s official school and bus locator route. Save the exact address, grade, school year, campus result, source URL and lookup date. Confirm new construction, transfer or program exceptions with district enrollment staff. A lookup result is not completed enrollment.

Does buying a home in Belton ISD guarantee New Tech at Waskow admission?

No. Belton ISD’s published 2026–27 New Tech at Waskow process requires an application and an interview with a parent or guardian. Out-of-district applicants also need transfer approval. Confirm current openings, timing and transportation directly with the campus.

Can I assume an out-of-zone transfer will be approved?

No. On September 30, 2026, Belton ISD’s transfer page said 2026–27 applications were no longer being accepted. Its policy requires annual applications and places transfer transportation responsibility on parents. Check the current policy and obtain the district’s answer before relying on a transfer for a housing decision.

What private and charter routes can I research near Temple and Belton?

Selected school-run routes include Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Central Texas Christian School and St. Mary’s Catholic School in Temple; Providence Preparatory School in Belton; and Priority Charter Schools’ Temple campus page. Confirm the physical campus, grade opening, admission requirements, full annual cost and transportation with each school. This is not a ranking or an exhaustive directory.

Can Taylor guarantee a school assignment?

No. Taylor can help organize a home comparison and locate official school resources. The district or school must confirm enrollment, assignment, program admission and any exception. Use the ungated address worksheet to record the questions and evidence before calling or emailing.

Planning a home purchase

Bring the address and the unresolved question.

Taylor can help organize your property comparison and locate district resources. Ask the district to confirm enrollment, campus assignment and program access. A conversation with an agent does not reserve a school place.

Step 01
Choose the property addresses and expected move date.
Step 02
Save the official lookup and list any conflicting information.
Step 03
Call or email Taylor for help with the home comparison.
